Position: Registered Practical Nurse - Community Setting - Every Other Weekend (Sat/Sun) Day Shifts - 12 hour shifts.
Location: Whitby, ON.
Position Summary:
Heart and Hands Home Care Inc. is a home health care agency in Durham Region. We are seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for Every Other Weekend Saturday and Sunday Day Shifts. 12 hours: 7am-7pm.
The position is for one Client in a residential home located in Whitby, ON. A low stress environment with time to provide proper care and build relationships. Please note that the client does not smoke and requires a pet friendly nurse in their home. Client requires medication administration every two hours.
Shifts Available:
-Saturday+Sunday Every Other Weekend Day Shifts (12 hours) starting as soon as possible.
-Shift Times: 7am-7pm Days; Saturday and Sunday
-Pay between $28-$30/hour
Registered Practical Nurse - Job Responsibilities/Skills:
- Knowledgeable with the CNO Practice Standards and Guidelines (Medication, Documentation, Confidentiality and Privacy, Therapeutic Nurse-Client Relationship)
- Knowledge on Parkinson's Disease (Training will be provided)
- Educated on medications associated with Parkinson's Disease (Levodopa, Entacapone - Training will be provided)
- Provide psychological, emotional, and physical support
- Promote daily exercise
- Promote nutritious meals
- Document ADLs, Medication Administration, and any changes to the clients physical or mental status
- Review and update customized care plans
- Provide professional and high-quality care with excellent bedside manners
- Be a strong advocate for our client
- Maintain clear and ongoing communication with Heart and Hands Home Care Inc.
Qualifications: Education & Licensing Requirements:
- Registered Practical Nursing Diploma
- College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) licensing number and must be in good standing with the CNO
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Clean Background Check
