Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder to join our clients fabrication team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on various metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine project requirements.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces for welding.
- Set up and operate welding machines and related tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain proper welding parameters (voltage, amperage, gas flow) based on material type and thickness.
- Inspect welds visually and with measuring tools to ensure high-quality standards and structural integrity.
- Tack weld, fit, and assemble components before final welding.
- Follow all workplace safety guidelines, including PPE use and equipment lockout procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
- Collaborate with fabrication, engineering, and quality control teams to ensure project success and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Valid CWB certification to CSA W47.1 (required)
- Minimum 2 years of MIG and TIG welding experience, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
- Proficient in working with a variety of metals, especially stainless steel and aluminum.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, safety standards, and equipment operation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
