Job Summary
Reporting to the General Manager Gather, the Support Staff works diligently to ensure our guests receive quality service and have a wonderful experience that exceeds their expectations each time they visit Gather Craft Kitchen & Bar. Support Staff will provide warm, and caring service, and exhibit deep "ownership" of the restaurant and its unique mission.
The Support Staff is the first point of contact for guests over the phone or in the restaurant and will set the tone for the dining experience. They will cheerfully greet guests, manage reservations, take guests to their table, and provide them with a menu. They will monitor the table rotation and make sure Servers get a fair number of tables. The Support Staff will prepare dining areas by thoroughly cleaning and setting the restaurant tables between guests. They support Servers to ensure all tables are set and cleared in a timely manner.
The Support Staff will ensure a smooth flow of orders between the front of the house and the back of the house by coordinating orders from the line, checking for quality control and orders are ready to serve. They will assist with checking consistency in portions, quality and presentation and communicate discrepancies to the Chef, Sous Chef or Restaurant Manager to ensure an efficient delivery of service to guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests to the restaurant and cheerfully greet them.
- Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas, provide them a menu and any other information required.
- Manage reservations over the phone, online platforms, or in-person.
- Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists.
- Ensure all necessary supplies such as linen, utensils, condiments, and cleaning materials are adequately stocked and organized.
- Ensure quality, portion size and presentation standards are upheld on every plate served.
- Adhere to and enforce Compass Group Canada and Park Hospitality policies.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in restaurant areas.
- Maintain a professional image while working and provide extraordinary experiences to our park visitors while performing daily work activities.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the principles of equity and diversity, and proven ability to work effectively with a diverse population
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and/or GED equivalent.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- One (1) year of related experience in a fast-paced, food service environment is preferable.
- Exceptional phone etiquette and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks at once.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve customer issues or complaints.
- Positive attitude with the ability to work well in a team or independently.
- Physically capable of safely performing the duties of the position which includes standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 25-40lbs regularly.
- Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to follow directions, demonstrate a high sense of urgency, and be a friendly, team player.
