Mara Home and Health Services is currently looking to provide exciting travel nursing assignments in remote and rural communities in Nunavut Community locations will be revealed following job appointment.

Mara Home and Health Services Inc invites passionate and adventurous nurses to seize the opportunity for travel nursing assignments in Nunavut's communities. Nurse's will be responsible for assessing patient health status and responding to actual and potential health problems including emergent and critical situations on an ongoing basis.

Role:

  • Responsible for providing safe competent, and quality nursing care while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Providing care within the guidelines outlined by Registered Nurses Association of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (RNANT/NU) scope of practice, Code of Ethics by the Canadian Nurses Association, NEU collective agreement and Government of Nunavut policies;
  • Responsible for the provision of direct nursing care in a cross-cultural setting by applying the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating) for all patients in the system.
  • Making decisions regarding client management including crisis management and facilitating referral in consultation with supervisor and/or other professionals
  • Arranging for safe client transport in consultation with the supervisor and/or other health care professionals as required and acting as a medical escort when required.
  • Participating in the delivery of health services to satellite communities, where applicable, by visits and through radio, radio-telephone or telephone consultations
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all client related information

Requirements:

  • Proven Expanded Scope and experience in ER/Acute care settings, showcasing the ability to respond with skill and confidence in high-stress situations.
  • Registration with The Nurses Association of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (RNANT/NU) prior to the start date of employment is required;
  • Current certifications: CPR/BLS, TDG, ACLS, PALS, WHMIS, ITLS (course registration accepted prior to employment start date), TNCC, CTAS
  • Obtain (within one month of hire) and maintain the Nunavut Immunization Certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience working in remote and isolated communities
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector check (Valid within 12 months)

Term:
