What is the opportunity?
Reporting to the Director, Marketing Technology, the Senior Manager, Digital Marketing Technology acts as both a business and technical leader for Wealth Management marketing capabilities and solutions across email and automated communication channels.
Operating as an in-house subject matter expert for digital messaging solutions, this role is accountable for enterprise-level responsibility for the marketing technology stack. Responsibilities include overseeing the development, implementation, integration, governance, and growth of this stack, while ensuring alignment with internal policies, applicable legislation, industry standards, and best practices.
This role also serves as a trusted business partner to internal teams, key stakeholders, and external vendor partners. Additional accountabilities include resource, vendor, and cost management; articulating MarTech capabilities through presentations and roadshows; onboarding new lines of business to existing infrastructure; defining scalable technical architecture; and ensuring effective governance of technical solutions and environments.
The Senior Manager consistently demonstrates thought leadership and technical expertise, managing cross-functional teams and guiding diverse initiatives from concept through delivery.
Location: Toronto, ON (downtown) - 4 days onsite.
What will you do?
Consult with lines of business and key stakeholders to enable digital marketing campaigns, partnering with internal business and technical teams and third-party vendors to analyze needs and recommend scalable, high-quality MarTech solutions that support business outcomes, revenue growth, and cost savings
Establish, refine, and deliver strategic roadmaps to ensure MarTech platforms remain current and support scalability, resilience, security, capacity, and operational maintenance
Drive the design, development, and deployment of marketing technology capabilities that enable customized, integrated solutions delivering personalized digital communications
Maintain enterprise accountability for compliance with applicable email and data privacy regulations (e.g., CASL, CAN-SPAM, GDPR) through effective preference and data management practices
Act as subject matter expert and strategic lead for Salesforce Marketing Cloud and related Salesforce platforms and integrations, including CRM
Develop reusable infrastructure and business rules to support client and advisor targeting
Establish and manage operational processes to ensure effective governance of development, testing, production environments, source code management, quality assurance, and digital channel standards
Partner closely with supported lines of business on releases including deployments, enhancements, and fixes, ensuring appropriate testing and acceptance criteria are met in production environments
Requirements
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
University degree in a business or computer science discipline (e.g., Business, Marketing, Computer/Data Science, Engineering)
Experience delivering and facilitating executive-level discussions related to digital marketing technology strategies and initiatives
Proven experience implementing initiatives that advance marketing technology capabilities, including rollout and change management of new technologies, data environments, and data access or transformation tools
5+ years of specialized experience in marketing technology, relationship marketing, and email marketing
5+ years of experience in application architecture and internet technologies
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business, functional, and organizational boundaries within complex environments
Nice to have
Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (e.g., Email Specialist, Developer, Consultant, Administrator)
Familiarity with web programming languages and technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript)
Familiarity with additional Salesforce Clouds (e.g., Service Cloud, Commerce Cloud)
