We currently have a full-time opportunity for an Accountant to join our Finance team. This role can be based out of one our main offices: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON and Calgary, AB.
**As an Occupancy Accountant, you will:**
Accurately prepare and post entries and account for transactions in the general ledger
Prepare and review working papers that support account balances, investigate errors, and facilitate corrections
Understand Occupancy Accounting and ensure proper period journal entries
Complete period-end close processes, controls, and procedures
Ensure compliance with CEO/CFO Certification requirements.
Participate in the internal and external audit requests.
Collaborate with various stakeholders and provide recommendations that are in accordance with the company policies and IFRS
With a process improvement mindset, propose innovative ideas
Prepare various analytical and ad-hoc reports.

**What your resume will include and demonstrate to us:**
University Degree and Accounting Designation CPA (or in the process of obtaining)
2+ years of accounting experience
Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS)
Strong communication skills (Both oral and written)
Excellent time management skills to meet time-sensitive deadlines
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of SAP preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel)
