Ecom North is Canada's #1 eCommerce community empowering owners & operators of consumer brands to meet new people and level up. Through conferences, retreats, and events across Canada, we bring industry leaders together, driving connections and insights that empower businesses to thrive. Our flagship conference in Toronto doubled in size this year and we are expanding to the Asian-Pacific region, with a conference in Singapore. <br><br>
We would like to launch a Membership program for our community of DTC owners & operators for January 2026 and we need someone to build and manage it. We are looking for someone who knows the DTC space and wants to build a community. <br><br>
Role Overview:<br>The Memberships & Media Manager will be responsible for building, launching, and scaling our membership program while overseeing the broader community and media strategy. This role sits at the intersection of community building, content/media, and growth marketing, ensuring our community feels connected, supported, and inspired across all touchpoints — whether that's online, at our events, or through our media channels. This person is a strategic thinker and a bold builder.
<br>Key Responsibilities:<br><br>
Memberships & Community:<ul><li>Design, launch, and manage our new membership program, including structure, benefits, onboarding, and engagement strategy.</li><li>Build and nurture a thriving community of entrepreneurs across digital platforms (Slack, forums, social channels, etc.).</li><li>Develop programming (virtual events, workshops, roundtables) that adds ongoing value to members.</li><li>Drive retention, engagement, and growth through creative campaigns and member-first initiatives.<br><br></li></ul>
Media & Content:<ul><li>Oversee social media strategy and execution, ensuring alignment with brand voice and business goals.</li><li>Collaborate with internal and external creators on newsletters, podcasts, and video content.</li><li>Develop campaigns that tie together events, media, and community into a seamless brand experience.</li><li>Track and analyze performance across media channels, making data-driven decisions.<br><br></li></ul>
Leadership & Growth:<ul><li>Own KPIs around membership acquisition, engagement, retention, and community satisfaction.</li><li>Partner with events, partnerships, and marketing teams to ensure membership and community are integrated into the larger company vision.</li><li>Stay on top of industry trends in community building, media, and membership models.</li></ul>
<br>What We're Looking For:<ul><li>Someone who has owned or operated a consumer brand, will be prioritized </li><li>2-3+ years experience in community building of any kind (brand, start-up, media or membership community)</li><li>Strong background in social media, digital content, and storytelling.</li><li>Strategic thinker who can design systems, but also hands-on and comfortable executing.</li><li>Excellent communicator and natural connector who thrives in entrepreneurial environments.</li><li>Data-driven with experience using analytics tools to track and improve performance.<br><br></li></ul>
Compensation & Benefits:<ul><li>Base Salary: $70,000-$90,000 per year</li><li>Bonus Structure: Earn up to $100,000-$120,000 in performance bonus</li><li>$1000 annual health & wellness stipend to cover anything from dental to massages</li><li>Access to industry events as a rep of Ecom North</li><li>Not your typical 9-5: a flexible, remote work environment</li><li>Quarterly in-person strategy days in Toronto<br><br></li></ul>
