We're seeking a AI Engineer to work closely with our AI Engineering Lead to design, build, and improve our next-generation technology platform-covering everything from autonomous deal scouting and AI-driven diligence to research augmentation and real-time portfolio monitoring.</p><p>You'll operate at the forefront of emerging technologies: prototyping with the latest agent architectures, experimenting with advanced LLM tools, and translating bold ideas into production-grade systems. Our long-term vision is for you to launch and oversee a fleet of autonomous agents that work hand-in-hand with our investment team, elevating both the speed and quality of decisions.</p><p>We need a self-directed builder who pairs deep technical skill with product intuition-someone energetic, versatile, and comfortable navigating ambiguity while supporting multiple teams. If you thrive on pushing boundaries and turning innovation into impact, we want to meet you.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong><em>Rapid Prototyping & Implementation</em></strong></p><ul><li>Take high-level concepts and ship working prototypes within 24-48 hours.</li><li>Build backend services and data pipelines that collect, process, and structure information for AI consumption.</li><li>Build flexible dashboards that surface the most important information when it's needed.</li></ul><p><strong><em>Technology Research & Innovation</em></strong></p><ul><li>Continuously scout emerging AI/ML models, agent architectures, and developer tools.</li><li>Rapidly prototype and integrate the best ideas to keep BoxOne at the frontier of augmented decision-making.</li><li>Establish lightweight experimentation pipelines, evals, and success metrics.</li></ul><p><strong><em>Workflow Automation</em></strong></p><ul><li>Automate repetitive or low-value steps through intelligent orchestration and system integrations.</li><li>Build resilient data pipelines that move information seamlessly between agents, internal databases, and external APIs.</li></ul><p><strong><em>Data Engineering</em></strong></p><ul><li>Design and implement data schemas optimized for both AI processing and fast queries.</li><li>Build robust pipelines that can ingest data from diverse sources (APIs, documents, web sources).</li><li>Create systems that continuously collect and update targeted datasets without constant</li><li>maintenance.</li></ul><p><strong><em>Collaborative Problem Solving</em></strong></p><ul><li>Partner closely with investors, venture partners, and incubation teams to translate their needs into elegant technical solutions.</li><li>Document, demo, and train colleagues on new tools to accelerate adoption and foster a culture of technical curiosity.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong><em>Relevant Experience</em></strong>: Proven experience of AI Engineering, with a portfolio projects. Someone who builds and ships, not just closes tickets. Show us your GitHub.</p><p><strong><em>Technical Skills</em></strong>:</p><ul><li>Strong proficiency in Python. Go and Next.js are nice-to-haves</li><li>Experience building RAG pipelines, database design, and multi-step agentic workflows</li><li>Preference for working directly with LLM APIs, building specialized tools, and creating evaluation frameworks</li><li>Experience with web browsing agents and modern information retrieval</li></ul><p><strong><em>Independent Work Ethic</em></strong>: Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation. Ships working prototypes in hours/days, not weeks.</p><p><strong><em>AI Engineering Mindset</em></strong>: Builds custom solutions instead of stitching together frameworks.
