<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p></p><strong></strong><p><strong>We&#39;re Hiring: Used Vehicle Buyer / Appraiser </strong></p><p><strong>Shift Auto Group is growing, and we’re looking for a sharp, driven, and detail-oriented Used Vehicle Buyer / Appraiser to join our Used Inventory Team. Based in Fredericton, you’ll play a critical role in sourcing and appraising pre-owned vehicles across Canada—from auctions to online wholesale platforms, to direct customer purchases.</strong></p><p><strong>This position requires a solid understanding of used vehicle values, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.</strong></p><p><strong></strong></p><p></p><strong><p>Responsibilities for this position include:</p><ul><li><p>Evaluate vehicles for purchase, using Shift Auto Groups&#39; established criteria and guidelines. This includes reviewing condition reports, CarFax reports, and other information.</p></li><li><p>Utilize online research tools to evaluate a vehicle&#39;s retail and wholesale value, specific to each geographical location in which Shift Auto Group operates.</p></li><li><p>Attend digital auctions, bidding on and buying vehicles that we have established meet our criteria and guidelines.</p></li><li><p>Working with our in-store sales teams to evaluate customers&#39; potential trade-in vehicles to ensure the highest possible level of success in selling and acquiring vehicles on trade.</p></li><li><p>Valuing purchases directly from customers using our criteria, communicating directly with each store & management.</p></li><li><p>Completing all paperwork required for the purchase of vehicles from auctions, third party vendors and customers.</p></li><li><p>Work with the Used Inventory Team Members to maximize our vehicle buying opportunities and to spot trends and opportunities in carlines as well as geographical regions.</p></li><li><p>Work with our Vehicle Reconditioning team to ensure that any vehicles acquired that do not meet our criteria or have post-sale issues are arbitrated with the source or platform that we purchased the vehicle from within their set timelines.</p></li><li><p>Assist in the facilitation of payment for vehicles purchased, both from auctions and third part vendors as well as directly from customers, by working with our Accounting and Administration Team.</p></li></ul></strong><p><strong>Requirements for this position are:</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>At least 2 years of automotive experience, ideally in a used vehicle valuation role (Buyer, Used Car Manager, General Manager, Sales/Desk Manager).</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>Technologically savvy, able to manage multiple screens/software at the same time as well as proficient in Google/Microsoft suite of office tools.</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>Able to work flexible hours as needed (some evening and Saturday work is required</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>Willing and able to work on-site full-time in Fredericton, NB</strong></p></li></ul><p><strong>If you&#39;re passionate about cars, data-driven decisions, and maximizing opportunities in a competitive market, we want to hear from you.</strong></p><p><strong>Apply today and be part of the Shift Auto Group.</strong></p><p><strong>Shift Auto Group has been providing quality new and used vehicles, financing, and exceptional service across the Maritimes since 2015, built on decades of automotive expertise passed down through generations.
