As part of the Tch Investment Corporation, we are committed to creating employment opportunities that reflect the values and skills of local Indigenous communities.</p><p><br><br></p><p>Position: Tour Guide<br />Are you passionate about sharing the beauty and culture of the Northwest Territories with visitors from around the world? My Backyard Tours is seeking a Tour Guide to join our team, helping guests connect with our region's traditions, stories, and landscapes through exceptional experiences.</p><p><br /></p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Conduct engaging and safe community and regional tours, sharing the history and culture of the area from Indigenous perspectives.</li><li>Lead a variety of activities, including city tours, hiking, aurora fireside tours, snowmobiling, cultural practices, demonstrations and more.</li><li>Transport guests, luggage, winter clothing rentals and supplies using company vehicles.</li><li>Facilitate guest introductions to other tour operators and activities, ensuring smooth transitions.</li><li>Provide exceptional customer service and always ensure guest safety.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Required Skills and Qualifications</p><ul><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.</li><li>Self-motivated and reliable, able to manage time effectively and work independently.</li><li>Demonstrated professionalism, sound work ethics, and a commitment to safety.</li><li>Class 4 and/or 5 Drivers License (mandatory).</li><li>Standard First Aid and CPR certification (mandatory).</li><li>Ability to identify and address workplace hazards and report concerns to the supervisor.</li><li>Willingness and availability to work evenings and weekends as required.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Additional Assets</p><ul><li>Knowledge of the region's Indigenous history, culture, language, and natural environment, particularly.</li><li>Experience in tourism, customer service, or guiding.</li><li>Multilingual abilities (especially in Indigenous languages, French or Spanish) are a plus.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Compensation and Benefits<br />Tch Adventures Ltd. offers a competitive compensation package and a unique opportunity to be part of a team that promotes cultural preservation and connection to the land.
