<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Sr. Electrical Engineer role at Suncor in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This position provides technical and engineering support as part of the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Reliability Team. You will utilize technical skills to support operations, maintenance and outage activities, and prepare high-quality design packages as required.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Provide technical support to operations and maintenance during troubleshooting and incident investigations</li><li>Participate in PU meetings and assist with field visits</li><li>Complete E&I engineering work packages for equipment reliability improvements, ensuring compliance with standards</li><li>Prepare high-quality design packages and detailed specifications</li><li>Analyze equipment data to develop end-of-life strategies and failure reports</li><li>Provide technical guidance to junior engineers with design improvements or failure replacements as required</li><li>Lead technical excellence through active participation in E&I Suncor Technical Excellence Networks (STENs)</li><li>Support small capital and expense projects that are primarily E&I-focused (motor upgrades, VFD replacements, etc.)</li><li>Ensure environmental and regulatory compliance for E&I equipment and infrastructure</li></ul><h3>Minimum Requirements</h3><ul><li>A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering</li><li>7 or more years of experience in E&I maintenance/reliability engineering within the industry/operating plant</li><li>Expertise in electrical equipment including relays, VFDs, motors & switchgear</li><li>Knowledge of design, maintenance, testing and commissioning of E&I equipment</li><li>Experience with management of change (MOC) process and workflow</li><li>Proven stakeholder management and non-authoritative leadership skills</li><li>Knowledge of medium & low voltage Rockwell/Siemens/ABB VFDs is preferred</li></ul><h3>Location & Details</h3><ul><li>Work location: Syncrude Mildred Lake, Fort McMurray, Alberta</li><li>Hours: regular 40-hour week, Monday to Friday; potential for extended hours based on business needs</li><li>Compensation: pay band generally based on years of experience and scope of work following internal guidelines</li></ul><h3>Why Suncor?</h3><p>Suncor operates across oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S.; and Petro-Canada retail and wholesale networks.
