We're looking for an experienced Shop Manager - Millwright to join a Canadian leader in the material handling industry.<br /> In this role, you'll oversee a team of 8-10 technicians in a busy service facility, using your millwright and mechanical expertise to lead installation, repair, and maintenance activities for heavy industrial equipment. You'll ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards while fostering a strong culture of teamwork and accountability.<br /> The ideal candidate is a Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) who has transitioned into—or is ready for—a leadership role. You'll combine technical know-how with strong organizational and people management skills to keep operations running smoothly and customers fully satisfied.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br /><ul><li>Lead and supervise 8-10 technicians within mechanical and fabrication departments.</li><li>Oversee installation, alignment, repair, and maintenance of conveyors, crushers, screeners, and other heavy machinery.</li><li>Plan and coordinate workflow, personnel, tools, and materials to ensure productivity and minimal downtime.</li><li>Maintain strict quality and safety standards while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.</li><li>Review daily and weekly work plans with management; adjust schedules to meet production and quality goals.</li><li>Develop project timelines and ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget.</li><li>Collaborate with field service, parts, and transportation teams to improve operational efficiency.</li><li>Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections; ensure compliance with OHSA regulations and PPE standards.</li><li>Ensure accurate completion of work orders and repair documentation.</li><li>Support recruitment, training, and performance development of shop staff.</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and uphold company health and safety programs.</li></ul><strong>Qualifications</strong><br /><ul><li>Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or equivalent Skilled Trade Certification / AEC / DEP (required).</li><li>Minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical maintenance or heavy industrial equipment service, ideally with leadership experience.</li><li>Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, including alignment and fabrication.</li><li>Proven ability to lead a team, manage workflow, and maintain safety and quality standards.</li><li>Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.</li><li>Commitment to safety, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction.</li></ul><strong>Benefits</strong><br /><ul><li>Competitive compensation</li><li>Extended health and dental coverage</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Opportunities for growth within a dynamic, solutions-driven organization</li></ul><strong>Location:</strong> Crossfield, Alberta (On-site role)<br><br><strong>Interested?
