Overview

The Finance Department Limited (TFDL) specializes in the Strategic Placement of Accounting & Finance Professionals on a Contract or Permanent basis. Our client is looking for an accounting professional to join their team for the contract duration.

Responsibilities

  • Month-end Close: Performs month-end procedures including GL entries, account reconciliations, production of financial statements and lender covenant reports, and preparation of monthly internal reporting packages.
  • Banking: Supports the accurate recording and reconciliation of daily banking activities including setting up payments and bank transfers.
  • Reporting and analysis: Supports the annual budgeting process and ad-hoc requests as required, particularly in relation to potential business opportunities that may include M&A transactions.
  • Audit and Compliance: Ensures the maintenance of organized and accurate supporting documentation throughout the year for both internal control and to support external audits.
  • Public Company: supports the preparation of quarterly financial disclosure documents (financial statements, MD&A, and other requirements as necessary).
  • Collaborate: provides leadership by working with operations teams to support the development of key reporting systems and identify process improvements.

Qualifications

  • CPA or near completion
  • University business degree
  • 3+ years of senior experience performing accounting close processes and supporting financial reporting
  • Hands on working knowledge of general ledger accounting systems (Sage Intacct is preferred).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices (IFRS).
  • Strong Excel skills, and ability to work in Google Sheets.
  • Collaborative and enjoy contributing and working as a team.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and growth-oriented company.
  • Excellent communication skills
