<p><p>The Department of Information Technologies is currently seeking a Full‑time Regular <b>RPA Lead Solution Architect</b> within the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) group, reporting to the Associate Director, ERP Systems & Services. This position manages and mentors a team of developers and is responsible for the technical aspects of the RPA program, including architecture, integration, and operationalization of enterprise‑wide automation solutions.</p><h3>Technical Design and Development</h3>
<ul>
<li>Takes ownership for the success of the technical aspects of the RPA program</li>
<li>Roadmap and continuous service improvement</li>
<li>Overall responsibility for the architecting and sustainment of large, complex, mission‑critical automations</li>
<li>Ensure all systems align with IT architectural standards and roadmaps</li>
<li>Consult with cross‑functional client groups and IT support teams to determine delivery and service requirements</li>
<li>Resolve business problems, identify automation opportunities, and capture design documents within the RPA COE</li>
<li>Develop work plans, estimates, methodology, and procedures for automation development and integration projects</li>
<li>Investigate and stay current with intelligent automation product directions and emerging technologies</li>
<li>Responsible for digital worker security setup and compliance</li>
<li>Collaborate with PeopleSoft ERP technical and functional teams to optimize ERP‑RPA relationships</li>
<li>Interface with external systems for necessary integrations</li>
<li>Design and build automations using software development methodologies</li>
<li>Maintain and enforce appropriate technical design and development standards</li>
<li>Ensure deployed automations are properly monitored and issues are resolved quickly</li>
<li>Ensure custom object dependencies are fully understood and risks addressed</li>
<li>Develop reports and dashboards for internal and external use</li>
</ul>
<h3>Leadership and Staff Development</h3>
<ul>
<li>Manage a team of 2–5 professionals</li>
<li>Lead mentorship and staff development initiatives</li>
<li>Maintain up‑to‑date staff job profiles, performance assessments, and reviews</li>
<li>Work with leadership to set annual goals for staff</li>
<li>Supervise technical staff to ensure high‑quality service</li>
<li>Handle hiring and disciplinary actions within the team</li>
<li>Act as escalation point and guide the team through issues for root‑cause resolution</li>
</ul>
<h3>Project Management</h3>
<ul>
<li>Lead strategic projects or phases under the RPA COE direction</li>
<li>Develop, maintain, and communicate project plans and schedules; prioritize requirements and coordinate resources</li>
<li>Track deliverables, milestones, and progress against plans</li>
<li>Document scope in Process Design Documents and Solution Design Documents for approval</li>
<li>Investigate variances and apply corrective actions promptly</li>
<li>Communicate delays and changes early with impacted teams</li>
<li>Apply agile methodologies and Scrum framework</li>
</ul>
<h3>Quality Management</h3>
<ul>
<li>Ensure RPA program adheres to IT change controls, audit, and security best practices</li>
<li>Maintain a library of project and development documentation templates</li>
<li>Secure timely deliverable reviews and sign‑offs</li>
<li>Execute development quality control reviews (e.g., code reviews)</li>
<li>Audit systems and logs for irregularities</li>
<li>Conduct reviews for custom objects: Process Design Document, Solution Design Document, code walkthrough, test plan review, and defect resolution</li>
<li>Verify solution test coverage and requirements compliance</li>
<li>Assign and manage review findings to responsible team members until resolution</li>
<li>Lead RPA practitioner forums to share best practices and recommend enhancements to the COE</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications / Requirements</h3>
<h3>Education & Experience</h3>
<ul>
<li>Post‑secondary degree in Computer Science or a related field</li>
<li>5–7 years of experience in Intelligent Automations</li>
<li>Well‑rounded knowledge of all aspects of automation architecture</li>
<li>2–3 years of leading a development team</li>
<li>Master‑level knowledge of the software development lifecycle</li>
<li>Advanced knowledge of audit, ITGC controls and security standards</li>
<li>Analytical skills for sound decision‑making and complex problem resolution</li>
</ul>
<h3>Technical Skills</h3>
<ul>
<li>Extensive experience with RPA software (Blue Prism, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, WorkFusion)</li>
<li>Proficiency in Java, .NET (C#, VB), and SQL Server</li>
<li>Experience with design/architectural patterns (MVC, JSON, Web API)</li>
<li>Proficiency in Windows server administration</li>
<li>Experience with ERP systems (PeopleSoft, Workday, SAP)</li>
<li>Basic knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft Architecture</li>
<li>Hands‑on experience with OCR/ICR document handling</li>
<li>Extensive SQL Server experience for reporting and dashboards</li>
<li>Experience with digital worker security setup and compliance</li>
</ul>
<h3>Project Management & Development</h3>
<ul>
<li>Hands‑on experience with IT project management tools (JIRA)</li>
<li>Proficiency in project management, requirements analysis, technical design, development, and testing</li>
<li>Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies</li>
<li>Developing work plans, estimates, methodology, and procedures for automation integration projects</li>
<li>Mapping business problems, identifying automation opportunities, and creating design documents</li>
<li>Experience with lifecycle management and quality control reviews</li>
</ul>
<h3>Leadership & Interpersonal Skills</h3>
<ul>
<li>Proven experience working within cross‑functional project teams</li>
<li>Strong mentorship and staff development skills</li>
<li>Lead the RPA COE in discovery and creation of initiatives</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across business and IT levels</li>
<li>Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications</li>
<li>Act as escalation point, build and communicate remediation plans to stakeholders</li>
<li>Highly professional team player</li>
</ul>
<h3>Additional Skills</h3>
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft HCM and/or Finance/SCM applications is an asset</li>
