KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The production designer performs some or all the following duties:

• • Complete technical information on drawings;
  • Ensures that graphic standards and client specifications have been followed, such as vinyl and paint colors, etc.;
  • Produce the electrical plan of the sign;
  • Designs the illumination and produces the diagram for the position of the LEDs in the sign;
• Produce the documents for the components that must be manufactured using computer assistance (CNC);
• Ensure accuracy of dimensions, and ease of use and understanding of technical designs;
• Collaborate with the manufacturing and estimating team to validate design drawings and confirm manufacturing methods;
• Questions manufacturing methods by optimizing structural components while not compromising on safety;
• Always seeking improved manufacturing methods to improve competitiveness;
• Produce drawings according to standards, specifications, and engineering requirements of customers;
• Be able to work autonomously with little supervision to produce quality, drawings that are efficient and cost effective to build and maintain structural safety after installation;
• Must ensure that all drawings produced in the department are updated to ensure compliance;
• Must attend "Job Meeting" meetings with the Project Manager and the production team to clarify certain details for the production.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Have a college diploma in graphic design or equivalent;
• Extensive knowledge of CorelDraw, AutoCAD, and other design software, etc.;
• Appropriate knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint);
• Ability to work in French and English;
• Social skills and ability to work in a team or independently;
• Organizational skills, problem solving and ability to meet deadlines when required;
• Excellent ability to read plans/measurements/structures;
• Ability to adapt to change.

We prefer someone with social skills as they will be communicating with their co-workers. Autonomous, adaptability, accuracy, resourcefulness, leadership, and knowledge of the signage industry would be an asset to the candidate.
