IGV Housing is transforming the way homes are built in Canada. As the country’s first true Hybrid Construction System, IGV combines the speed and efficiency of off-site manufacturing with the flexibility of on-site construction to deliver homes up to 50% faster, with 80% less waste, and up to 50% more affordably.

Through our SmartCore™ and PrecisionBuilt systems, we offer fully integrated, scalable housing solutions that deliver cost certainty, design flexibility, and unmatched quality. IGV Housing exists to meet the urgent demand for smarter, faster, and greener residential construction—building homes that are ready for tomorrow.

Summary of Position

The Procurement & Supply Manager – Construction Materials plays a critical role in ensuring IGV Housing delivers homes on time, every time. This hands-on role is responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, managing supplier relationships, and supporting both factory production and construction site requirements.

You will lead procurement activities across our Manufacturing Operations, Delivery & Installation teams and Customer Care. As IGV Housing’s role as Principal Contractor grows, you will also support site construction by preparing material take-offs, budgets, and schedules.

The ideal candidate brings experience from wholesale construction supply or commercial construction, with a strong network in lumber, mechanical, electrical, and finishing trades.

Main Duties / Accountabilities

Procurement & Ordering

  • Procure and schedule delivery of materials aligned with company standards, conditions of purchase, cost targets, and quality/delivery timelines.
  • Place bulk call-off and ad hoc orders to support both factory production and construction site schedules.
  • Maintain detailed procurement records, budgets, and schedules.

Construction Site Support

  • Prepare accurate material take-offs and site-specific budgets.
  • Support construction teams with timely and cost-effective delivery of supplies.
  • Ensure just-in-time delivery to minimize waste and delays.

Supplier Relationships & Cost Control

  • Build and maintain a strong supplier network, including local and Indigenous suppliers.
  • Track material cost fluctuations and report to the commercial team.
  • Negotiate competitive pricing and maintain a Preferred Supplier List across tiers 1–3.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Contribute to the development of improved purchasing processes and frameworks.
  • Maintain operational cards (JES/OPS), plant and equipment records, and ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations.
  • Support sustainability goals by promoting responsible sourcing and waste minimization.

ERP & BOM Management

  • Manage procurement through ERP systems.
  • Work with complex, multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring replenishment accuracy.
  • Collaborate with production to ensure materials and information align with build schedules.

Qualifications & Training

  • Post-secondary education in supply chain, business administration, or related field an asset (not required with strong construction supply experience).
  • CIPS, SCMP, or equivalent certification (or willingness to pursue) preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both in-person and digital.

Experience & Requirements

  • Required: Strong background in commercial/wholesale construction supply or procurement.
  • Minimum 2 years in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Must live or are willing to relocate in the Port Alberni area.
  • Proven supplier network in lumber, mechanical, electrical, and finishing materials.
  • Experience with ERP systems and BOM management.
  • Familiarity with WorkSafeBC regulations and site safety requirements is an asset.

Qualities & Attitude

  • Detail-oriented and persistent, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Quick to learn new products and processes.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the demands of a growing business.
  • Committed to IGV Housing’s values of sustainability, inclusion, and community impact.
