PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Procurement and Supply Chain, the Procurement Manager will manage an efficient and effective purchasing process based upon applicable legislation and established purchasing policy and procedures, including RFP submissions, contract negotiations, maintaining vendor contract relationships ensuring risk managing supply sustainability etc. The Procurement Manager will also be responsible for ensuring internal processes are aligned with QA (Quality Assurance) standard and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance) strategy and applicable legislation.

  • Lead and manage purchasing operations, policies, and procedures.

  • Identity opportunities for cost-savings through buying practices, vendors, programs, and ingredient usage.

  • Maintain knowledge of the market, in addition to current prices and fair rates of goods.

  • Lead RFP Process and manage contracting process, bids, procurement, records, renewals in existing system.

  • Maintain procurement records and keep them current according to legislation, review contracts and renewals to assure contract compliance.

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with trustworthy vendors and suppliers, ensure that vendors are knowledgeable, and abide by company policies.

  • Create systems to deal with supply issues, price increase requests, quality, and shipment issues.

  • Coordinates within departments to ensure that the procurement plan and activities are aligned with inventory and sales plan.

  • Maintain knowledge of ongoing ESG legislation and requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; preferably in business, business administration, or finance; and five (5) years related purchasing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in foodservice distribution is a plus

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics knowledge considered an asset).

  • Knowledge of contract law; principles of negotiations; procurement techniques; research and market analysis techniques; contract development and administration

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to produce clear and well-organized documents

  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, document, and implement
