A postdoctoral fellow position in pediatric sarcoma biology and therapeutics is available immediately in Dr. Yemin Wang's laboratory. The successful candidate will report directly to Drs. Yemin Wang and David Huntsman, the Principal Investigators on this collaborative project. They will work in a strongly collaborative and collegial fashion with multi-disciplinary and cross-functional project team members to meet research goals and objectives.
The postdoctoral fellow will lead a project studying the etiology of rare and untreatable tumour types associated with DICER1 syndrome using the unique genetically engineered mouse models we have developed (

andÂ
). Under the mentorship of Drs. Wang and Huntsman, they will design and carry out experiments to understand the biology of DICER1 syndrome-associated cancer and develop biologically-informed treatment strategies.Â
The successful candidate would be expected to have a solid background of cancer biology, molecular biology, or a related discipline. Experience in miRNA research, functional genetic screens, and/or genetic engineered mouse models would be an asset. The successful candidate must exhibit excellent communication and organization skills; a demonstrated potential for excellence in research productivity. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to supervise graduate and undergraduate students, gain leadership experience in collaborative projects and contribute to grant applications.
