We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional hospitality in a unique setting.<br><br><b>Overview</b><br><br>We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry Chef / Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This dual-role position is responsible for overseeing the pastry program and supporting overall kitchen operations. You'll prepare high-quality baked goods and desserts, contribute to menu planning, and ensure a clean, efficient kitchen environment. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, semi-remote setting and values teamwork, creativity, and excellence.<br><br><b>Key Responsibilities</b><br><ul><li>Prepare baked goods, breads, and desserts for up to 30 guests and staff.</li><li>Lend a hand to kitchen service operations as required</li><li>Collaborate with kitchen team to create on and off site heli lunch offerings</li><li>Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety across the kitchen.</li><li>Assist with menu planning and inventory management.</li><li>Ensure proper food storage and stock rotation.</li><li>Maintain kitchen equipment and recommend replacements as needed.</li><li>Uphold health and safety regulations (Food Safe, WHMIS).</li><li>Attend lodge and kitchen meetings; participate in emergency response planning.</li><li>Foster a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture.</li></ul><br><br><b>Qualifications</b><br><ul><li>Culinary and pastry diploma or certificate preferred.</li><li>Red Seal Chef designation an asset.</li><li>Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.</li><li>Supervisory experience and ability to lead a team.</li><li>Knowledge of Food Safe, WHMIS, and First Aid.</li><li>Strong communication and organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively.</li><li>Willingness to work flexible shifts, including split shifts when needed.</li></ul><br><br><b>Attributes We Value</b><br><ul><li>Energetic, punctual, and well-groomed.</li><li>Adaptable and responsive in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Detail-oriented with a passion for quality and presentation.</li><li>Friendly and professional demeanor, with a focus on guest satisfaction.</li><li>Commitment to continuous improvement, nutrition and sustainability.</li></ul><br><br><b>Working Conditions</b><br><ul><li>Long hours, split shifts, and standing for extended periods.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 35 lbs regularly.</li><li>Exposure to high kitchen temperatures and occasional cold/wet environments.</li></ul><br><br><b>Compensation & Perks</b><br><ul><li>Competitive daily rate starting at $280.00/day + 4% vacation pay.</li><li>Health and dental benefits after 160 work days.</li><li>Group savings plan eligibility.</li><li>Paid personal/sick days.</li><li>MWHS Ski Program & IKON Pass benefits.</li><li>Opportunities to heli-ski as available.</li><li>Discounts on MWHS merchandise</li><li>Room and Board during the work season included.</li></ul>.
