<p><strong>INTERMEDIATE MINE SITE PLANNING & MODELING SPECIALIST</strong></p><p><strong>Full Time, Permanent</strong></p><p><strong>Burnaby, BC / Vernon, BC / or Calgary, AB</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>THE OPPORTUNITY:</strong></p><p>We are seeking an<strong> Intermediate Mine Site Planning & Modeling Specialist</strong> to contribute to practical, effective solutions in mine site planning and water management. This role, based in either British Columbia or Alberta, is perfect for a technically driven professional who enjoys modeling, tackling complex challenges, and helping mining clients make informed, defensible decisions.</p><p><br></p><p>In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior professionals and the Mine Site Planning & Modeling Lead to develop and refine<strong> GoldSim models </strong>that support mine planning, operations, and environmental permitting. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality projects while expanding your expertise and preparing to take on increased responsibility and leadership within the team.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>PERKS:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive salary with performance-based bonus, comprehensive benefits (extended health, dental, vision, and health care spending account), and group savings matching plan (GRSP/TFSA).</li><li>Hybrid work environment with flexible scheduling, remote work options (including up to 30 days outside Canada), and relocation support where applicable.</li><li>Hands-on experience with advanced modeling tools (GoldSim) and real-world mine site applications, working alongside senior and award-winning professionals.</li><li>Opportunities for professional development, career coaching, skill growth, and potential share ownership upon meeting eligibility criteria.</li><li>Employee-focused culture with team-building activities, wellness allowance, and 24/7 Employee and Family Assistance Program support.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:</strong></p><ul><li>Developing and maintaining GoldSim models to support mine water management, site planning, and permitting activities.</li><li>Collecting, reviewing, and analyzing site data, including climate, hydrology, water balance, and infrastructure, to inform model inputs and assumptions.</li><li>Running simulations, performing sensitivity analyses, and interpreting model results to generate actionable insights for mine planning and operational decisions.</li><li>Preparing well-structured technical documentation, reports, and visual materials that clearly communicate modeling approaches and outcomes.</li><li>Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, hydrologists, and environmental specialists to integrate modeling results into design and permitting workflows.</li><li>Supporting field programs through data collection, site assessments, and on-site investigations as needed.</li><li>Enhancing modeling tools, workflows, and templates to improve accuracy and efficiency.</li><li>Participating in client meetings and technical discussions while working under the mentorship of senior staff.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental, Mining, or Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Geoscience, or a related discipline.</li><li>Designation or eligibility with EGBC or APEGA as an EIT, P.Eng., GIT, or P.Geo. (eligibility for professional registration in BC is considered an asset).</li><li>7+ years of relevant experience in mine water management, hydrology, or environmental modeling as a P.Eng.</li><li>Proficiency in GoldSim for water balance or system modeling (experience with probabilistic and stochastic modeling considered an asset).</li><li>Strong understanding of mine water systems, site infrastructure, and environmental permitting processes in British Columbia.</li><li>Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities with demonstrated technical writing proficiency.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.</li><li>Self-motivation, initiative, and accountability with a commitment to teamwork and continuous learning.</li><li>Valid driver's license in good standing.</li><li>Ability to perform fieldwork, including equipment handling, travel to remote locations by vehicle, boat, or air, and outdoor site work in varied weather and terrain conditions.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>COMPENSATION: </strong>$124,000 - 140,000/year</p>
