This role is pivotal in driving our mission to support global decarbonization and digitization trends through advanced electric heating solutions.</p><p>This opportunity is ideal for an engineer with a strong foundation in metallurgical and ceramic material science. If you enjoy working as part of a small team to create and build advanced, customer focused solutions – this role will keep you engaged and inspired.</p><p>You'll thrive here if you:</p><ul><li>Want to make a real impact on a small, empowered team.</li><li>Enjoy building products and new technologies that solve real-world problems and improve continuously through customer feedback.</li><li>Are energized by the challenge of leading development of new technology in rapidly growing markets.</li><li>Appreciates the elegance of well thought out, purpose built designs.</li><li>Value driving projects from inception to full commercial release.</li></ul><p></p>What You'll Do<ul><li>Work in cross functional teams to transform conceptual ideas into fully commercialised new products.</li><li>Balance innovation with regulatory, technical, and commercial constraints to ensure product viability and success.</li><li>Conduct research to understand the properties, behavior, and performance of refractory and metallurgical materials.</li><li>Develop and execute test plans to understand technical concepts and validate new designs. </li><li>Perform troubleshooting, resolution analysis on a variety of heating products and associated equipment.</li><li>Prepare technical documents (i.e. specifications, test procedures, lab reports, root cause analysis).</li><li>Provide technical support to Sales, Production, Purchasing, and Quality departments.</li><li>Review updated codes and standards and assess impact on product design.</li><li>Provide enhancement and continuous improvement to existing products and processes.</li><li>Maintain awareness of state-of-the-art technologies. Keep Thermon abreast of the latest industry trends and recommend responsive actions.</li></ul><p></p>What You Bring<ul><li>5+ years hands on experience in Material Science research and development.</li><li>Strong understanding of Material Science lab processes: sample preparation, optical microscopy.</li><li>Familiarity with Design of Experiments methodologies to optimize compositions and processing parameters, enabling data-driven decision making.</li><li>Experience in new product development using a structured stage-gate process from concept through commercialization.</li><li>Strong understanding of project management principles, risk assessment, and go/no-go decision-making.</li><li>Fundamental working knowledge of electric heating technology.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to apply scientific principles to address complex challenges.</li><li>Minimum Bachelor's degree in <span >Mechanical/Material</span> Science.</li></ul><p></p>Bonus Points For<ul><li>Familiarity with material electric insulating characteristics, failure mechanisms and testing methodologies: Partial discharge, capacitance, dielectric withstand.</li><li>Experience in polymer science.
