<p>London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) is a world-class academic health sciences centre located in London, Ontario. LHSC delivers patient care and experiences built on excellence in research, innovation and learning. LHSC serves local and regional needs, including the Children’s Hospital, within a large geographic area. LHSC is known for its dedicated people and care, with a workforce of close to 15,000.</p>
<p>Emergency Department staff and physicians at LHSC provide care to patients quickly and effectively, with services prioritized by the severity of condition on arrival.</p>
<p>The Victoria Hospital Adult Emergency Department consists of 47 stretchers, 20 chair spots, and three trauma bay stretchers. It sees about 70,000 patients per year. Our team includes Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, Emergency Department Technicians, Medical Laboratory Assistants, Communication Clerks, Emergency Physicians, Social Workers, an Indigenous Navigator, a Geriatric Nurse Clinician, and corporate support staff. LHSC is the regional level one Trauma center for the West Region and a Schedule One Mental Health facility, and is a center for Vascular, Oncology, Women’s Health and Burns.</p>
<h3>The Role</h3>
<p>Reporting to the Director, Emergency Services, the Manager, Emergency Department – Victoria Hospital directs, controls and evaluates the delivery of department services. The Manager translates decisions into execution, working with internal and external partners to achieve outcomes. The role ensures alignment with LHSC’s mission, vision and values, and supports achievement of strategic objectives.</p>
<p>This role is accountable for day-to-day department activities, including management of human and material resources, staffing and scheduling, fostering a healthy workplace, risk and utilization management, and facilitation of improvement initiatives and change management. It operates within approved operational budgets and financial guidelines. A major focus is building effective relationships within the team and with other units across the organization. Note: this role may be required to be on-call.</p>

<li>Clinical and/or management experience in an acute care setting.</li>
<li>Post-graduate education and a recognized professional registration are preferred.</li>
<li>Active members of the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) with CHE Select certification in process may be considered.</li>
<li>Demonstrated clinical excellence with high-quality patient care and patient/family experiences.</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and environments.</li>
<li>Proficiency with computers (email, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related systems.</li>
