Job Description

Brouwer Kesmac is a manufacturer of Turf Equipment located in Keswick Ontario. We are a full manufacturing facility from fabrication of sub assemblies, welding and paint, to complete sod harvesters. We are looking for an experienced Machine Builder for our automatic sod harvester department that is reliable, take pride in their work and are interested in learning and developing new skills in a niche industry.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, fabricating, and installing various components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. The Builder will contribute to the successful completion of projects by ensuring precision, safety, and quality standards are met throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Fit and install prefabricated parts to form sub- assemblies and/ or finished goods.
  • Assembly of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components and systems
  • Familiar with the sequence of assembly; able to assemble most sub-assemblies without direction or guidance
  • Works at the required pace of work in assembling the product, able to plan tasks as needed to meet production schedule
  • Is able to repair or fit parts of the product that require grinding or fitting
  • Knows how to work from production schedules, where and how to expedite parts on production schedule.
  • Inspect finished products for proper function and safety guards
  • Is responsible for the quality of his/her own work
  • Knows safety procedures and works safely.

Requirements:

  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Previous experience repairing and/or building heavy equipment/ agricultural equipment an asset
  • Prior knowledge of hydraulic and Electrical assembly an asset
  • Previous experience using hand held pneumatic or electrical tools to assemble the product
  • 1-3 years previous experience in similar environment
  • Punctual and Organized
  • Must have valid driver's Licence

Working Conditions

Normal working conditions for a manufacturing environment. Work involves standing, walking, carrying, stooping, crouching, sitting, grasping and reaching, May require lifting, pulling and/or pushing up to 50lbs. Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to, steel toe footwear, eye, ear and hand protection.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 39 per week
