Job Description
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in menu planning and development, ensuring that all dishes meet quality expectations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper handling procedures at all times.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Perform inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed.
- Participate in catering events as required, providing exceptional service to guests.
- Utilize knife skills effectively for meal preparation and presentation.
- Must be willing to cross train in all positions and ability to learn and cook all menu items.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably as a Line Cook or Prep Cook within the restaurant or catering industry.
- Familiarity with dietary department practices or experience as a dietary aide is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and fine dining standards.
- Excellent food handling skills with an emphasis on safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with menu planning and creativity in dish presentation is desirable.
