Job Description

Matrix HR is currently hiring Journeyperson Welders for a long-term, high-profile shipbuilding project in the Lower Mainland, BC. This is steady, year-round work with excellent wages.<br><br>
Wage: $57.01/hour with a raise scheduled in January 2026.<br><br>
Type: Full-Time, long term.<br><br>
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.<br><br>
Start Date: Potential mid-December, beginning January.<br><br>
Relocation Assistance: $500 (one time) for those outside the Lower Mainland.<br><br>
Referral Bonus – Open to Everyone:<br>We offer a $400 referral bonus to anyone who refers a Journeyperson Welder who is hired and works at least one week.<br><br>
This bonus is for the person making the referral - it is not part of the welder's compensation.<br><br>
There is no limit on how many referrals you can submit.<br>If you know welders who may be interested, feel free to share this opportunity.<br><br>
Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>SMAW and FCAW welding on ship structures and components.</li><li>Reading and interpreting blueprints and welding specifications.</li><li>Oxy/fuel cutting, plasma cutting, and air-arc gouging.</li><li>Working safely at heights, outdoors, and in confined spaces.</li><li>Meeting shipbuilding quality standards and site safety procedures.</li></ul>
<br>Job Requirements:<ul><li>Journeyperson/Red Seal Welder.</li><li>Valid CWB SMAW All Positions (X-ray quality, minimum 6 months remaining).</li><li>Valid CWB FCAW All Positions.</li><li>Ability to pass a plate test.</li><li>Minimum 2.5 years of welding experience.</li><li>Proof of SMAW/FCAW use within the last 3 months.</li><li>Eligible to work in Canada and able to pass background/security checks.</li></ul>
