<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Ecora is seeking a Geotechnical EIT (Engineer-in-Training)</strong> to join our expanding Geotechnical Group. The position will be based in our <strong>Kelowna or Vancouver offices</strong> to support our growing workload across British Columbia. We are looking for a motivated EIT who is eager to gain hands-on experience in geotechnical site investigations, laboratory testing, data analysis, and the preparation of technical deliverables, while working toward Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensure.</p><p><strong>Ecora's Geo-Hydro Group</strong> provides geotechnical and hydrotechnical services in support of <strong>infrastructure projects, commercial developments, dam engineering, and residential subdivisions</strong>. We are proud to provide consulting services to <strong>provincial ministries, utilities, municipalities, First Nation communities, architects, developers, and contracting firms</strong> throughout British Columbia. Our team is supported by a <strong>CCIL-certified materials testing laboratory</strong> and a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.</p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><ul><li><p>Assist with the planning and logistics for field investigations, including borehole drilling, in-situ testing, and groundwater monitoring.</p></li><li><p>Conduct and document field tests, ensuring proper sample handling and safety compliance.</p></li><li><p>Support coordination of laboratory testing for soil and rock samples; compile and review test results.</p></li><li><p>Process and interpret geotechnical data to develop subsurface profiles, cross-sections, and preliminary ground models.</p></li><li><p>Prepare draft sections of geotechnical reports, including figures, tables, and basic engineering calculations.</p></li><li><p>Perform routine geotechnical analyses (bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability) under supervision.</p></li><li><p>Maintain project databases, lab logs, and GIS/CAD files for geotechnical deliverables.</p></li><li><p>Participate in site visits, instrumentation installations, and construction observations.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with civil, structural, and environmental teams to integrate geotechnical input into projects.</p></li><li><p>Ensure adherence to health & safety, environmental, and quality control standards.</p></li></ul><strong>Qualifications</strong><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geological Engineering; <strong>EIT registration (or eligibility) in BC</strong>.</p></li><li><p>12 years of co-op or professional experience in geotechnical engineering preferred.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with field investigation methods, soil and rock classification, and basic laboratory testing.</p></li><li><p>Basic proficiency with geotechnical software and CAD/GIS tools is an asset.</p></li><li><p>Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear technical writing ability.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).</p></li><li><p>Willingness to work outdoors in variable conditions and travel to remote project sites.</p></li><li><p>Commitment to professional growth, safety, and ethical engineering practice.</p></li></ul><strong>Additional Requirements</strong><ul><li><p>Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.</p></li><li><p>Legally eligible to work in Canada.</p></li></ul><strong>The Rewards</strong><p>In exchange for your hard work and dedication, Ecora offers:</p><ul><li><p>Competitive compensation and <strong>extended health and dental benefits</strong>.</p></li><li><p><strong>LTD insurance</strong> and <strong>profit-sharing opportunities</strong>.</p></li><li><p><strong>Reimbursement of professional membership dues</strong>.</p></li><li><p>Opportunities for <strong>paid training and career growth</strong>.</p></li><li><p><strong>Employee share options</strong> and a <strong>collaborative team culture</strong> with social events.</p></li></ul><p><strong>About Ecora</strong><br /> Ecora is an employee-owned <strong>engineering, environmental, and forestry professional services firm</strong> committed to creating and delivering quality solutions to our valued clients.
