Foundry Finisher

Job Description

Main functions: Secondary operations in an aluminum foundry:<ul><li>Ensure all duties are being performed following safe work practices at all times and do not present a safety hazard to employees.</li><li>Follow scheduling documentation to ensure designated parts are shipped to the next department.</li><li>Remove excess flashing from castings.</li><li>Follow operator's instructions in work packages.</li><li>Move, place and adjust heating torches on molds.</li><li>Ensure that equipment, materials, and production processes do not present a safety or health hazard to employees or to the general public.</li><li>Finishing of casting through saw cutting and sanding procedures for gate removal.</li><li>Prep and shake sand cores.</li><li>Relieve Caster.</li><li>Completes work package documentation. </li><li>Clean work areas and equipment.</li></ul>

Working conditions:<ul><li>Works 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday.</li><li>Foundry Finisher frequently changing priorities</li></ul>
<br>Employment Requirements:<ul><li>WHMIS Certification.</li><li>Mechanically inclined.</li><li>Reliable.</li><li>Ability to work under minimum supervision.</li><li>Multi-task.</li></ul>
