This role also assists with school events and responds to the needs of the school community. A strong focus on safety, responsiveness, and dependable maintenance is required.</p><p><br /></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain the security and safety of the school facility, including:</li><li>Closing the school each evening</li><li>Ensuring all gates are locked</li><li>Ensuring all doors and windows are latched</li><li>Ensuring the security alarm is engaged</li><li>Reporting any safety or security concerns promptly</li><li>Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of buildings and grounds (inside and outside)</li><li>Respond promptly to spills or urgent cleanup requirements</li><li>Clean washrooms and change rooms and maintain supply levels</li><li>Clean common areas including dining hall, gymnasium, corridors, and meeting rooms</li><li>Sweep, mop, polish, vacuum, and shampoo floors as required</li><li>Collect and prepare garbage and recycled materials for disposal</li><li>Support general maintenance and school operations, including:</li><li>Assisting with painting, minor repairs, and routine upkeep</li><li>Performing basic maintenance and minor repairs as required</li><li>Moving equipment, furniture, and supplies as needed</li><li>Setting up and taking down seating, furniture, and equipment for assemblies and events</li><li>Completing deliveries and internal moves throughout the building and grounds</li><li>Provide support to the school community by:</li><li>Responding professionally and promptly to teachers, staff, students, and parents</li><li>Carrying out tasks safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner</li><li>Performing other related duties as assigned</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum 3–5 years of facilities maintenance or custodial experience</li><li>Strong understanding of building security procedures</li><li>Excellent command of English (written and verbal)</li><li>Ability to safely operate and understand basic electrical, mechanical, fire-alarm, and security systems</li><li>Demonstrated cleaning and general maintenance skills</li><li>Ability to perform minor repairs and basic building maintenance</li><li>Ability to work independently and respond quickly to urgent situations</li><li>Physically able to lift 50+ lbs / 25 kgs</li><li>Must have a clear criminal background and be able to pass a Vulnerable Persons Check</li><li>Flexibility to support school events on evenings or weekends if required</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Info</strong></p><ul><li>Must pass criminal and vulnerable persons check</li><li>Must be able to lift 25 KGs</li><li>Day shift only</li><li>North York location</li><li>Full-time, 6 month+ contract</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>How to Apply</strong></p><p>If you meet the required experience and qualifications, please apply with your current and detailed resume.
