Emergent/Urgent Care Family Physician (200-1281)

This job opportunity offers rewarding small town Emergency/Urgent care work in a collegial setting within a modern facility featuring a fully electronic medical record and First Net triage system. The practitioner will collaborate with an inter-professional healthcare team to provide culturally safe urgent care to patients on-site at Chemainus Urgent Care Centre.

Mandatory qualifications: current Advanced Trauma Life Support certification or CARE course, current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification, and at least one Pediatric Advanced Life Support course.

The physician must be comfortable managing minor injuries and medical conditions, and familiar with procedures including cardioversion, intubation, and casting.

Start Date: As soon as possible.

Additional Information: Full-time or part-time positions available. May be eligible for additional remuneration according to the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including (subject to change):

  • Recruitment Incentive: up to $10,000 (pro-rated based on FTE)
  • Relocation: up to $15,000 (based on relocation distance)
  • Flat fee: $6,373.80
  • Fee Premium: 4.20%
  • CME: $2,200/year (years 3-4), $4,400/year after 4 years in the community

Education, Training, and Experience: Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
