We are looking for an Electrical Superintendent who will work closely with the project team to coordinate the project to the satisfaction of the client, consistent with the costs, schedule, and contractual requirements. The role involves coordination of all production requirements related to the work, including safety, quality, administration, scheduling, cost controls, and communication with clients, subcontractors, and craft workers. Electrical or LRT experience is required.</p><p><b>Main Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Ensure construction compliance with the Project Agreement, including quality, safety, environment, and life cycle performance standards.</li><li>Manage interface between internal teams and subcontractors.</li><li>Coordinate with other segments to ensure schedules are aligned and enabling functions are performed timely.</li><li>Maintain quality standards, procedures, and audits to meet project requirements.</li><li>Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality of site operations.</li><li>Build client confidence through effective project leadership both on-site and in meetings.</li><li>Assist in interpreting drawings and specifications for field crews and resolve design inquiries in cooperation with the construction team.</li><li>Contribute to work plan and work package development, understanding project milestones and resource needs.</li><li>Direct and oversee work activities on-site according to engineering plans.</li><li>Provide technical support to the project team as needed.</li><li>Assist in developing cost estimates, reviews, and budgets, and contribute to schedule planning and efficiency analysis.</li><li>Maintain relationships with stakeholders, including notifications and interactions with the Project Communications Team.</li><li>Manage budgets by coordinating material and equipment needs and understanding associated costs.</li><li>Participate in daily prestart meetings, record attendance, and confirm daily tasks.</li><li>Manage crew hours and ensure adherence to schedules and budgets.</li><li>Develop staffing strategies to handle workload peaks and seasons, including apprentice-to-Journeyman ratios.</li><li>Verify and approve timesheets, ensuring hours match work output.</li><li>Maintain a presence on-site to monitor progress and address issues.</li><li>Participate in safety activities, including inspections, incident investigations, and onboarding.</li><li>Ensure safety performance of the team and work area logistics.</li><li>Coordinate inspections and ensure quality, safety, and environmental standards are met.</li><li>Complete daily reports in project control software and maintain physical notes.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><b>Requirements</b></p><ul><li>Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction, or related trade; equivalent work experience is an asset.</li><li>Journeyman Electrician certification.</li><li>Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.</li><li>Experience with RFI, Site Instruction, PCN, Site Query, Redlines, and As-builts.</li><li>Proficiency in Bluebeam, MS Office, and BIM 360.</li><li>Experience with Commercial Building Electrical Installations: Traction Power, Communications, SCADA, Mechanical Power.</li><li>Understanding of work scope demarcation.</li><li>Familiarity with QA/QC practices, check sheets, NCRs, and ITPS.</li><li>Knowledge of submittal processes and review points.</li><li>Valid Class 5 driver’s license; a clean abstract is preferred.</li><li>Ability to navigate construction sites, including stairs, ladders, and uneven terrain, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.</li></ul><p><b>Skills, Competencies, Attributes</b></p><ul><li>Ability to interpret contract documents and drawings.</li><li>Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Strong organizational skills for managing multiple deadlines and disciplines.</li><li>Proficiency in MS Office and SharePoint.</li><li>Flexibility to work in field and office environments.</li><li>Self-motivated with minimal supervision.</li><li>Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards in construction.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple project scopes and adapt to changing priorities.</li><li>Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.</li><li>Strong sense of urgency and commitment to goals.</li></ul><p><b>DIVERSITY IS IMPORTANT TO US</b></p><p>At Colas, we believe our workforce should reflect the diversity of the communities we connect.
