<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><strong>About the Position</strong><p><strong>We&#39;re seeking a highly skilled and dedicated full time Cook to join our team. As a Cook, you&#39;ll be responsible for preparing excellent home style meals from scratch for a family of 65 residents, following established meal plans and recipes.</strong></p><p><strong>Excellent communication skills are a must, as is the ability to multitask and stay organized. Working in the kitchen means working independently as well as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment. </strong><br /></p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong><ul><li>Prepare ingredients for established dishes, such as chopping vegetables and cutting meat.</li><li>Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts - a 5 week rotational menu with 2 options per service.</li><li>Adhere to all health and safety standards when preparing food.<br /></li><li>Provide assistance to the head chef as required.</li><li>Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency.</li><li>Collaborate with other kitchen staff and servers to ensure all orders are prepared and served in a timely manner.</li><li>Able to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage when times are slow.</li></ul><strong>Requirements:</strong><ul><li>3-5 years experience as a Cook </li><li>Culinary certificate or equivalent an asset</li><li>Strong knowledge of best practices and cooking methods, including safe knife-handling skills</li><li>Strong prep and banquet style cooking</li><li>Baking skills an asset</li><li>Able to follow established recipes and meal plans</li><li>Able to work independently with limited supervision</li><li>Superb attention to detail while being able to work quickly and efficiently</li><li>Excellent multitasking and organizational skills while working in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Must be a motivated team player</li></ul><strong>What we offer:</strong><ul><li>Competitive wages</li><li>Comprehensive benefit package</li><li>Matching RRSP contributions</li><li>Free onsite parking</li><li><strong>Consistent hours, schedule, and business volumes are a added bonus!</strong></li><li>Many more benefits and perks</li></ul><strong>Meal Examples:</strong><ul><li>Roasted turkey, pork, or beef dinners </li><li>Haddock Almondine</li><li>Orange Dijon Salmon</li><li>Lemon Thyme Chicken</li><li>All served with a variety of sides</li></ul><p></p><p></p></p></p>
