<p>The Hospice & Palliative Care Program - Emmanuel House Hospice provides person-centered, palliative, and end-of-life care to individuals and their families in a peaceful, supportive environment. Our approach emphasizes dignity, comfort, choice, and respect, while supporting individuals facing life-limiting illness through an interdisciplinary and holistic model of care.</p>
<p>At Good Shepherd, we also recognize the inherent value of people living with addiction and are committed to integrating harm‑reduction practices, health equity, and anti‑racism/anti‑oppression principles across all programs.</p>
<p>Reporting to the Program Director, ryd <b_imp>Clinical Nurse Manager</b_imp> plays a key leadership role within the Seniors, Hospice & Palliative Care portfolio. You will provide strong clinical, operational, and professional practice leadership in a dynamic hospice environment, ensuring high‑quality, evidence‑based palliative care that enhances dignity and quality of life for residents and their families.</p>
<h3>How You Will Make an Impact</h3>
<p>You will lead and support an interdisciplinary care team, including nurses, personal support workers, students, and volunteers, fostering a culture of compassion, collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. Through effective role modelling, you will demonstrate Good Shepherd's Mission, Vision, and Values of Responsibility, Availability, Hospitality, Adaptability, Quality, and Dignity.</p>
<p>Key aspects of the role include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Providing clinical and professional practice leadership to ensure resident‑driven assessments, care planning, and documentation meet professional standards and PHIPA requirements</li>
<li>Supporting staff in delivering holistic, person‑centered care that addresses physical, psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual needs</li>
<li>Responding calmly and effectively to high‑acuity situations while prioritizing resident care needs</li>
<li>Ensuring quality, safety, and fiscally responsible use of staffing, equipment, and resources</li>
<li>Leading orientation, mentorship, education, and ongoing professional development</li>
<li>Managing staffing schedules, responding to census and acuity changes, and participating in on‑call rotation</li>
<li>Collaborating with physicians, internal teams, external agencies, and community partners to support smooth transitions of care</li>
<li>Leading accreditation activities and maintaining program‑specific policies and practices</li>
<li>Promoting culturally competent, trauma‑informed, harm‑reduction, and anti‑oppressive care practices.</li>
<li>Observe all health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
<h3>What You'll Bring to Our Team</h3>
<ul>
<li>Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, authorized to practice in Ontario</li>
<li>Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership and management experience in a healthcare setting</li>
<li>Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in palliative care, end bepalen of Eilanence or caring for individuals with life‑limiting illness</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience leading interdisciplinary teams and supporting quality client outcomes</li>
<li>Experience working with marginalized populations, including individuals facing mental health and addictions challenges, considered an asset</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of professional nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and ethical practice</li>Demonstrated commitment to Good Shepherd's Mission, Values, and harm reduction framework</ul></li>
<li>Excellent leadership, emotional intelligence, organizational, and communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to maintain a welcoming, calm, and supportive environment in emotionally sensitive situations</li>
<li>Knowledge of health equity, cultural safety, religious, ethnic, and cultural diversity</li>
<li>Ability to participate in an on‑call rotation</li>
<li>Valid Driver's License</li>
</ul>
