Their North American office is currently seeking a 6-month Contract Assistant Controller to join their finance team. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in supporting both the CEO and Head of Finance (based outside of Canada) with strategic financial leadership, including long-term financial planning, scenario modeling, capital structure evaluation, and risk management. They will oversee the full planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycle, monitoring financial and operational KPIs while driving cost control and profitability initiatives. In addition, they will ensure strong cash and treasury management by leading cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and banking relationships. On the operational side, the Assistant Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting and financial reporting, including consolidated financials, payroll, tax filings, compliance with IFRS, and managing audits with external auditors and regulators. They will also lead and develop the finance team, strengthen internal controls and processes, and champion system improvements, automation, and data-driven decision-making to enhance efficiency and support business growth. TMGVC Job Requirements: 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably within CPG or manufacturing Must be a qualified Canadian CPA or equivalent Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax compliance, cash management, treasury operations, and cost control Proven ability in financial modeling, strategic planning, and scenario analysis Proficient with ERP/accounting systems (Dynamics preferred), financial software, and Microsoft Office Suite Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills Demonstrated leadership ability to mentor and develop finance teams while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders Highly organized with excellent time management, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities Skilled in stakeholder management, negotiation, and maintaining effective cross-functional relationships Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments; adept at navigating ambiguity and driving change Proactive, self-motivated, and resilient under pressure with a strong commitment to continuous learning and improvement ApplyCreate Your Resume First
